What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy, or "talk" therapy, is an invaluable investment in yourself. We all experience times in our lives where we could benefit from the support and guidance of a caring, objective professional. Whether you are experiencing acute stress, trouble handling a life transition, or ongoing, persistent distress, psychotherapy can be helpful.

Therapy may be conducted in an individual, family, couple, or group setting, and can help both children and adults. Both patient and therapist need to be actively involved in psychotherapy. The trust and relationship between a person and his/her therapist is essential to working together effectively and benefiting from psychotherapy. The goals of treatment and arrangements for how often and how long to meet are planned jointly by the patient and therapist. Confidentiality is maintained throughout.
The choices we make in every aspect of our life have to do with our past experiences. Through exploration we learn how to understand and gain mastery over our past in order to create a more fulfilling present. Psychotherapy helps you to take control of your feelings and behaviors by gently uncovering the connections between past experiences and current difficulties.

Psychotherapy is a journey in which we work together to:
Identify your needs and wants
Understand the roadblocks to your happiness
Create goals for all areas of your life
Learn to seek happiness and pleasure
Learn to live a meaningful, balanced and exciting life
Create and enjoy healthy relationships
